CDT Outreach - Bringing Dance To The Community
In addition to the four public performances at Milburn Stone Theater each year, CDT also offers dancers performance experience through community outreach programs. We bring our shows to area nursing homes, adult daycare centers, perform at various community events such as at Immaculate Conception's Holiday Bazaar and Milburn Orchards Fall Fest as well as at other area organizations and events.
Our dancers are also very proud to offer four Cecil County public school presentations provided through the CREATE (Community Resources to Enhance the Arts and Team-teaching Efforts) Grant. This grant allows students in our community who may otherwise never be exposed to dance, the opportunity to enjoy our shows. The response from students is overwhelmingly positive as we receive many letters from students like 8 year old Kendall who attended her very first show and said "Thank you for dancing for us. Everyone was great!" and 6 year old Cade who wrote "Thank you for making your show for us, I really want to see it again".
